Regional entrenchment is of central importance for the KWO and the KWO is committed to ensuring that the Oberhasli remains an attractive work/life environment.
It is important for the KWO that their employees live in the region. Whereas this was once due to the fact that breakdowns in the powerplants be rectified as soon as possible, today the reason is more due to keeping income taxes in the region. The short distances to go to work bring an improved quality of life and less burden on the environment.
Around 20 % of the fulltime employees live in KWO houses, which they may also live in once they have retired. At the moment there are 82 KWO houses in Guttannen, Gadmen, Innertkirchen and Meiringen.
